Chroma/update

directed by Colin L. Racicot / starring Pierre Monet-Bach, Claude Loiseau and Justin Picard

CHROMA was featured in eight festivals (SFC de Cannes, San Diego Film Fest, Festival Vidéastes Recherchés, MOTION Film Fest, Young Cuts Film Fest, Toronto Indy Film Fest, Festival des films du Monde, MHSoC Film Festival). Almost one year after its creation, we can assume that it was a great success for Cinesthetique. CHROMA might be screened again within the next few months to come and we can guarantee that it will be available to the public on the internet in June 2011.  (We would like to clarify the situation concerning the “CHROMA: Part II” speculations. It’s completely false and unfounded.)

L’invité/In post-production

Written and directed by Colin L. Racicot

“L’INVITÉ”, starring Daniel Pilon and David-Alexandre Despres, is actually in post production! “L’INVITÉ” is a dramatic and absurd tale/short film of a lonely and pathetic old man (Antoine) who welcomes a corpse as if it was his guest. This man lives in a old cabin in the Grand North, on the lakeshore. The need of human relationship and the rewriting of the character’s personality is reflected in the whole ambiance of the story; cold, ambiguous, mysterious and caravagesque. The representation of the character’s inner state of mind throughout the film is reflected by this ambiance; a feeling of deep insanity, which is ambiguous until the final scene of the script. Inspired by the atmosphere of  The Decalogues by Kieslowski, Ennio Morricone’s work and Mon Oncle Antoine by Jutra, “L’INVITÉ” progressively portrays the catharsis of Antoine through strong and evocative atmospheres.

The film is set to be released on the Festival Circuit in Spring 2011. More informations to come!
